Jing Zhang, AICP

Jing Zhang, AICP, does transportation planning, plays piano, develops websites, and teaches language. 

Jing works as a transportation planner at the Morgantown Monongalia MPO in West Virginia and serves as the Chair of the International Division of the American Planning Association (2023-2026). Jing is also a member of the Transportation Research Board’s Standing Committee on Public Engagement and Communications (2021-2028).

Previously, Jing was appointed by Secretary Buttigieg to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Advisory Committee on Transportation Equity (2023-2025). He was a board member of the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (2016-2018). Additionally, Jing founded and co-chaired APA’s Japan-U.S. Collaboration Interest Group (2022-2025) and was a founding member of APA’s Asian and Pacific Islander Interest Group. 

Jing is steadfast in learning hazard mitigation and disaster recovery planning, driven by passion and consistency, to build resilient and sustainable communities for all.
